Board of County Commissioners
The Board of Commissioners is responsible for providing the legislative and executive functions of County government. Legislative functions are accomplished at meetings of the Board by adopting ordinances, policies, or resolutions that set public policy and guide government functions. The Board is also responsible for most executive functions of County government.

Charter Review Commission (CRC)
Washington statutes allow counties to adopt, by public vote, a "Home Rule Charter." A charter allows counties to adopt a "constitution" that can change their form of government and/or create requirements for the operation of government beyond those required in the State constitution.

County Code
County laws are created by Ordinance. Ordinances are adopted by the Board of Commissioners after a Public Hearing and are published in an organized form known as the "County Code." The Clallam County Code page contains links to recently adopted ordinances not yet codified. Interim and emergency ordinances, temporary in nature, are listed for informational purposes. Ordinances granting franchises are not codified.

County Clerk of Superior Court
The Superior Court Clerk's Office primary responsibility is to file and index all records filed for the Clallam County Superior Courts and Family Court.

Courthouse Business Hours and Legal Holidays
The Clallam County Courthouse in Port Angeles is open from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Monday through Friday, and closed on observed legal holidays.
