  • What to Do Now: Please hold onto these items for now (fluorescent tubes, CFLs) until the program is operational once again.  Disposing of these wastes in the garbage is against the law.  The program is mandated by law to continue. The Department of Ecology is actively working to identify a new stewardship organization to take over.
  • Eco-Lights will continue to accept shipments of remaining pre-paid boxes of mercury-containing lights from existing LightRecycle collection sites through January 31, 2026Eco-Lights may bill the shipping entity for lights they receive after this date. Eco-Lights is not sending out new boxes at this time. Bulk collectors of lights (those not using mail-in boxes) were instructed in December to schedule final shipments to Eco-Lights. Lights received by bulk collectors after January 1, 2026 will be their responsibility.
